What does a head spa cost around Coon Rapids?
$119 to $229 is the published band across the north metro in September 2026, and the lowest price at each of the four studios below sits between $119 and $130. Fiona's Day Spa charges $130 for a 60 min Korean–Japanese head spa and $152 when hair is longer or thicker.
Every figure below was read off that studio's own menu in September 2026 and each one can move without notice. Where a studio lists three numbers it is selling three lengths of appointment; where it lists one number with a second beside it, it is selling one treatment and pricing up the hair that takes longer to work through.

Why the cheapest number is rarely the whole menu
A $119 opening price and a $229 top price usually belong to the same studio, and what separates them is the length of the appointment. The band is wide because a head spa is sold by the length of the appointment far more than by the technique inside it, so two studios twenty minutes apart can look $110 apart on a listing page and be within $11 of each other on a like-for-like hour.
Read the duration beside every price before comparing two of them. Sixty minutes against sixty minutes is the only comparison that means anything, and it is the comparison most menus make you dig for.
Only one of the four sells the room to two people
Fiona's has two head spa tables in a single joinable room, so two people book the same hour, and a full-height privacy curtain divides the room when two guests would rather it did not. Two 60 min head spas booked together come to $260 — two menu prices, no supplement for the room.
None of the other three studios in the table publishes a couples or group head spa, and no head spa business publishes one in Blaine, Andover, Ramsey, Fridley or Champlin either. Two people who want the same hour are choosing between this room on Northdale Boulevard and a considerably longer drive.

What makes one head spa cost more than another?
Four things: how long the appointment runs, how much hair there is to work through, whether a facial or a massage is attached, and whether anyone looks at your scalp before the products are chosen. Duration carries most of the weight — $130 for 60 min, $185 for the 85 min and 90 min combinations, $250 for the full 120 min.
Hair length and thickness
$152 instead of $130. That second figure is a longer appointment: long or thick hair takes more cleanser, more sectioning and a good deal more rinsing, and the massage is not shortened to make the hour fit. The same step runs through the combinations — $205 instead of $185, $272 instead of $250.
Hair type does not change the price. Straight, wavy, curly, fine, coloured or chemically treated all book the same row; volume and length are the only two things that move the number.
Whether a facial or a massage is attached
$185 buys 90 min with a customized facial after the scalp work, $185 buys 85 min with a full-body massage instead, and $250 buys 120 min of all three. Each of those is priced under the sum of its parts: a 60 min head spa and a 60 min customized facial booked separately is $265, against $185 for the combination — $80 less, and half an hour shorter than the two appointments it replaces.
What happens before the shampoo
The scalp check. Which serum, scrub or mask gets used is decided from what your scalp is doing that day — oily at the crown, tight and dry along the hairline, tender behind the ears — and the 120 min booking names scalp analysis in its own description alongside a steam cap and essential-oil inhalation.
That step is also the reason a head spa is not priced like a wash. The American Academy of Dermatology's first tip for healthy hair is to match how often you wash to how oily your scalp gets, which is a question somebody has to look at your scalp to answer.

What do you pay at booking, and what at the end?
$30 at booking for the 60 min head spa, and the balance on the day. Deposits on the head spa rows run $30 to $50 — $50 on the 90 min head spa and facial, $35 on the head spa and body massage, $50 on the two-hour — and every one of them comes off the total rather than sitting on top of it.
The deposit exists because these bookings hold a therapist and a room for an hour or more, and it is the same money you would have handed over at the end, collected earlier in the week.
The 24-hour window
Move or cancel with 24 hours' notice and there is no charge at all. Inside that window the fee is 50% of the service cost, which on a $130 head spa is $65. Rescheduling with notice carries no charge.
Gratuity
No menu price includes it. What you see is the price of the treatment, the deposit comes out of it, and anything you add at the end is yours to decide. Nothing is added to your bill during the appointment.
Gift cards
Sold in any amount the buyer types, delivered by email, and spendable against any row on the menu. There are no fixed denominations, so a gift card can be written for the exact price of the 60 min head spa or for a round number that leaves the recipient to choose.

What the 120 min booking adds
Scalp analysis, a steam cap and essential-oil inhalation before the deep cleanse, then exfoliation and massage, then a facial, then a massage. It is the only row on the menu whose description names all three of those opening steps.

Is the 60-minute head spa the right first booking?
For most first visits, yes: $130, 60 min, and every stage of the treatment inside it — the scalp check, the staged cleanse, exfoliation, the long massage, the treatment, the warm-water rinse and the blow-dry. Nothing is left out of the short version; the longer rows add other treatments to it.
The case for starting at $185 instead is the drive. Where the trip in from Ramsey, Champlin or Brooklyn Park is the limiting factor, 90 min covers scalp and skin in one visit for $80 less than two separate bookings. A large share of the head spa hour is massage in any case, and the NCCIH lists massage among the approaches studied for stress and pain.

Cancel or reschedule with 24 hours' notice and there is no charge. Inside 24 hours, late cancellations and no-shows are charged 50% of the service cost — $65 on a $130 head spa.
Does the price include the blow-dry? +
Yes. The scalp check, the staged cleanse, exfoliation, the scalp, neck and shoulder massage, the treatment, the warm-water rinse and the blow-dry are all inside the 60 min at $130. Nothing on that list is charged separately, and you leave dry.
Is a head spa more expensive than a massage here? +
Slightly. A 60 min relaxation massage is $95, deep tissue and hot stone are both $110, and the head spa is $130 — $35 above the cheapest hour on the massage menu, for an hour that also washes, treats and dries your hair.
