— Booking your first appointment

How do you book a first visit?

In five steps: choose a treatment from the 37 on the menu, book it through GlossGenius or text (763) 317-6018, pay the $30–$60 deposit if that treatment takes one, say whether somebody is coming with you, then arrive five minutes early at the door marked 3183B.

  1. 01

    Pick the treatment

37 treatments are priced on the menu page, grouped so they can be read side by side: head spa, massage, facials and skin care, waxing, brows and lashes. The combinations stack two or three of those into a single visit — 90 min for a head spa and facial at $185, 120 min for all three at $250.

  2. 02

Book it online, or send a text

GlossGenius takes bookings 24/7, and a text to (763) 317-6018 is the quickest way to ask a question first — this is an appointment-based studio, so the team is often with guests and a call may not be picked up straight away. The booking system is organised by therapist — 5 of them, each carrying a slice of the menu — so the slots you see depend on who performs the treatment you picked. The laser and light treatments are the one part of the menu the booking system does not carry; those open with a consultation.

  3. 03

Pay the deposit, if the treatment takes one

Treatments that hold a therapist and a room for an hour or more take a card deposit at booking, $30 to $60 depending on the treatment — $30 on the head spa, $60 on microneedling. The 25 min express facial and the 10 min brow wax take none.

  4. 04

Say if someone is coming with you

Both tables in the head spa room are held when two guests book the same hour, so name the second guest while you are booking and the room stays yours as a pair. Bridal parties and larger groups are arranged by text or call ahead of the date, and gift cards are sold online in any amount when you are booking for someone else.

  5. 05

    Arrive five minutes early

Park directly in front of Suite B on Northdale Boulevard and come in through the door marked 3183B. If the entrance is secured while the team is in treatment rooms, text (763) 317-6018 and someone will let you in. Five minutes covers a coat, a cup of tea and the two questions that open the appointment — what you want out of the hour, and what to leave alone.

What if you need to change it?

Move or cancel 24 hours or more before the appointment and there is no charge at all. Inside that window the fee is 50% of the service cost, and a no-show is charged the same. Rescheduling counts as cancelling, so the quickest thing is a text to (763) 317-6018 the moment you know, or a change made in the booking system itself.

Where do you park?

Directly in front of the suite, free, no meter and no ramp. The building sits on Northdale Boulevard NW under a teal awning, and the number to look for from the road is 3183B, painted on the glass door. The contact page carries the map, and the areas we serve lists the neighbouring cities guests drive in from.

Korean head spa questions.

The head spa room is worked by the studio's five therapists, and the owner learned the treatment where it comes from — Fiona lived in South Korea for about thirteen years and still returns each year for continuing education. Her interview with VoyageMinnesota tells that story in her own words. The Japanese and Korean traditions sit inside the same appointment here, which is why the menu names both. The head spa page walks through an hour of it start to finish.

14 questions

What is a Korean head spa? +

A Korean head spa is a treatment for the scalp — the skin your hair grows out of. A session moves through deep cleansing to lift oil and product buildup, exfoliation to clear the skin around the follicles, a long scalp massage, and a finish with serums, masks or oils. The style originated in Japan and was refined in Korea, and the two traditions are close enough that most studios — including this one — draw on both.

How is a head spa different from getting your hair washed at a salon? +

A salon shampoo cleans hair; a head spa treats the scalp underneath it. The difference shows up in three places: the scalp is looked at before anything is chosen, the cleanse is staged, and the massage runs for a large share of the hour instead of the two minutes a basin allows.

How long does a head spa take? +

60 min. Combinations run longer — 90 min when a facial is added, 120 min for head spa, facial and massage together.

How much does a head spa cost in Coon Rapids? +

$130 for the 60 min Korean–Japanese Head Spa, and $152 if your hair is longer or thicker — that second price is not a surcharge for being difficult, it is a longer appointment. Combinations start at $185. A $30 deposit holds the booking and comes off the final bill.

Can two people have a head spa at the same time? +

Yes. Both head spa tables sit in one joinable room, so couples, friends and small groups book together. A full-height privacy curtain divides the room when two guests would rather not share the space, so the same room works either way.

What does a head spa actually do? +

It gives you a properly clean scalp and an hour of genuine quiet. Buildup that shampoo leaves behind is lifted, the scalp is hydrated, and the massage relieves the tightness that collects across the scalp, neck and shoulders. Hair usually feels softer and looks shinier afterwards because the scalp it grows from is clean.

Can a head spa help with hair loss? +

A head spa is not a medical treatment for hair loss and is not offered as one. Keeping the scalp clean and comfortable supports the environment hair grows in, which is a reasonable thing to want. If you are losing hair noticeably, see a dermatologist first — the two are not in competition, and knowing the cause makes everything else more useful.

Which hair types is a head spa suitable for? +

Head spa treatments can be customized for many hair and scalp types, including straight, wavy, curly, fine, thick and color-treated hair. Please let us know about recent chemical or color services when booking.

How often should you get a head spa? +

Frequency depends on your scalp, hair, product use and goals. Your provider can recommend a schedule after seeing your scalp.

Will a head spa strip my hair colour? +

A standard head spa should not noticeably affect professionally applied colour, though deep-cleansing treatments can contribute to fading over time. Tell your therapist if you have coloured your hair recently and the cleanse is adjusted.

Should I wash my hair before I come? +

No. The scalp is assessed as it normally is, and your hair is washed during the treatment. Arriving freshly washed hides the thing the therapist is trying to see.

Does a head spa hurt? +

No. The pressure is firm enough to feel like a massage and never sharp. Say so if a spot is tender — sensitivity around the hairline and behind the ears is common and easy to work around.

Is there any reason to reschedule? +

Yes, four: open cuts or wounds on the scalp, a contagious scalp infection, a bad scalp sunburn, and recent scalp surgery or a medical procedure unless your doctor has cleared it. Call and move the appointment — there is no charge for rescheduling with notice.

What does it feel like afterwards? +

Lighter. A cleaner, less tight scalp, softer hair, and the loose-shouldered feeling that comes after any good massage. Your hair is blow-dried before you leave, so you can go straight back out.

Massage questions.

Four modalities, two lengths each on the longer ones, performed by licensed massage therapists. Pressure is set out loud at the start and can change mid-hour — say so and it changes. The team page lists who performs what.

10 questions

What kinds of massage do you offer? +

Four: relaxation (60 or 90 minutes), deep tissue (60), hot stone (60 or 90) and sports (60). Prices run from $95 to $150, and a licensed massage therapist performs all of them.

Relaxation or deep tissue — which should I book? +

Book relaxation if the goal is to switch off, deep tissue if there is a specific knot you can point to. Relaxation uses long, even strokes at a pressure that stays comfortable throughout; deep tissue works slower and deeper into one or two areas, and it is normal for that to feel like a good ache.

What does a hot stone massage add? +

Heat. Warmed stones are worked over the muscles so they let go faster than hands alone manage, which suits shoulders and backs that have been braced against a Minnesota winter. Sixty minutes is $110 and ninety is $150.

Who is the sports massage for? +

People who train. It works on circulation, muscle tension and range of movement, and is usually booked around hard sessions or events.

Can we book a massage together? +

Yes. Call or text (763) 317-6018 and the appointments are placed together — the online system books one guest at a time, so a pair is easiest to arrange with us directly.

Will it hurt? +

A relaxation massage should not. Deep tissue can be uncomfortable in the places that need it, which is different from painful — tell your therapist and the pressure comes down immediately. You set the dial.

How much do I need to undress? +

As much as you are comfortable with. You are draped throughout and only the area being worked on is uncovered.

What should I do before my massage? +

Arrive a few minutes early, skip a heavy meal beforehand, and mention any injuries, medical conditions or areas you would rather were left alone. Say what pressure you like — guessing is the main reason people leave a massage thinking it was nearly right.

And afterwards? +

Drink water, move gently, and leave hard training for later in the day if you feel worked on. Soreness the next morning is normal after deep tissue.

When should I not book a massage? +

Check with a healthcare professional first if you have a fever or a contagious illness, a skin infection or open wound, recent surgery, a blood-clotting disorder, severe osteoporosis, certain heart conditions, or a high-risk pregnancy. Massage eases muscle tension and stress; it does not diagnose or treat a medical condition.

— Skin · 03

Facial and skin care questions.

Nicole is the studio's esthetician for customized facials, waxing, brows and lash lifts, with over ten years of experience behind her. Skin appointments run from a 25-minute express facial to a 60-minute microneedling session, and the two laser and light treatments are arranged by consultation instead of booked online. The skin care page sets out which is which.

9 questions

Which facial should I book first? +

The Customized Facial, 60 min for $135. Your skin is looked at first and the treatment is built from there, which is more useful than picking a name off a list before anyone has seen your skin. If you only have half an hour, the Refresh Express Facial is $60.

What happens during a facial here? +

Cleansing, exfoliation suited to your skin that day, extractions where they are needed, a mask, and a finish that seals in moisture. A customized facial changes in the middle if your skin turns out to need something different from what the consultation suggested.

Chemical peel or dermaplaning? +

A peel exfoliates chemically and reaches deeper; dermaplaning exfoliates mechanically and also removes the fine vellus hair on the surface. Peels are used for texture, tone, acne scarring, hyperpigmentation and sun damage. Dermaplaning is used when you want makeup to sit flat and products to absorb. Both are 25 minutes and start at $70.

What does microneedling do, and how is nano needling different? +

Microneedling encourages the skin's own collagen production using controlled micro-channels; nano needling works at the surface with no penetration of the dermis, so it is gentler and has essentially no downtime. One 60-minute appointment covers either, at $260 with a $60 deposit, and which one you get is decided at the consultation.

What is a back facial? +

A facial for your back — deep cleansing, exfoliation and hydration on the skin no routine ever reaches. It is the one most people book for blackheads and uneven tone across the shoulders. Sixty minutes, $95.

How often should you get a facial? +

Every four to six weeks, which is roughly the pace your skin replaces its surface cells. Active acne or significant sun damage may be worth treating more often at first and then spacing out as the skin settles.

My skin is sensitive. Is a facial still a good idea? +

Usually yes, with the treatment adjusted. Say what has irritated your skin before, what you are currently using, and whether you are on any prescription skincare — retinoids and acne medications in particular change what can safely be used on the day.

Can I get a facial while pregnant? +

Tell us when you book. Several actives, including some peel formulations, are avoided during pregnancy, and the treatment is built around that rather than cancelled.

Do you offer laser treatments? +

CO₂ fractional skin resurfacing and IPL skin rejuvenation are both available by consultation. Neither is bookable online and neither is priced on this site, because the plan depends on your skin type and what you are treating. Call to arrange the consultation.

8 questions

What are your hours? +

Mon, Wed–Sat 10 AM–6:30 PM · Sun 12–5 PM · Closed Tuesday. The Tuesday closure is the one people get caught by, so it is worth repeating: the studio is closed all day Tuesday.

Where are you? +

3183 Northdale Blvd NW, Suite B, Coon Rapids, MN 55433 — the suite number is painted on the door as 3183B. There is free parking directly in front.

Do I need an appointment? +

Yes — this is an appointment-based studio. Book online any time, or text (763) 317-6018; the team may be with guests, so texting usually gets an answer faster than calling. Same-day slots do come up, but the head spa room is the one that fills first, so a few days' notice helps.

Why does booking ask for a deposit? +

Several treatments hold a therapist and a room for an hour or more, so those take a card deposit of $30 to $60 at booking. It is not an extra charge — it comes off what you pay on the day.

What is the cancellation policy? +

We value both your time and ours. Should you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment, please provide a minimum of 24 hours' notice to avoid incurring any charges. Cancellations with 24+ hours' notice are not charged. Late cancellations and no-shows are charged a fee equal to 50% of the total service cost.

Do you sell gift cards? +

Yes, in any amount, bought online and delivered by email. They can be used against any treatment on the menu.

What does a visit cost? +

Between $18 and $272. A ten-minute brow wax is at the bottom of that range and the two-hour head spa, facial and massage with longer hair is at the top; most single appointments land between $95 and $185.

It is my first visit — what should I expect? +

Arrive five minutes early. You will be asked what you want out of the appointment and what to avoid before anything begins, and robes are provided where a treatment needs one. Nothing is added to your bill mid-treatment.

Are your therapists licensed?

Yes. Fiona is a Registered Nurse, an Advanced Practice Esthetician and a Massage Therapist — she trained in massage therapy at Northwestern Health Sciences University and in advanced esthetics at Saint Paul College. The other 4 therapists, and what each of them performs, are on the team page . You are welcome to ask about your therapist when you book.
